Winter conditions can be seriously bad for our health, especially for people aged 65 or over, and people with long-term conditions.

We want to help protect you and those you care for.

Alternatives to A&E

Guide to quicker treatment closer to home

People should use A&E only for critical or life-threatening situations requiring medical attention, such as loss of consciousness, heavy blood loss, suspected broken bones, persistent chest pain, difficulty breathing, overdoses, signs of a stroke, ingestion or poisoning. Avoid visiting A&E unless absolutely necessary. Read more here.
