What are Foundation Trusts?

NHS Foundation Trusts have been created to hand over decision-making from central Government to local organisations and communities. This allows us to be more responsive to the needs and wishes of local people. We do this through an elected Members' Council which works closely with the Trust's Board of Directors to influence decision-making and strategic planning.

As a public benefit corporation, our aim, as an NHS Foundation Trust, is to combine the best values of both public service and private enterprise.
