About "We care, do you?"
A campaign was launched in September 2007 aimed specifically at patients and the public in encouraging them to become members of their local hospital in north east Essex. Called: "We care, do you?" it aims to build on people's desire to show they care about the hospital services our Trust provides. Chief Executive Peter Murphy said: "Membership is free and shows us that people not only care about the services we provide but that they have an interest in the future of NHS hospital services in north east Essex. This will be done through the Trust's new Members Council, one of the key elements of becoming an NHS Foundation Trust."
As all of the Trust's NHS and Carillion staff automatically become members, the original membership campaign "Refer a friend" continues to run. Aimed deliberately at staff, it complements the "We care, do you?" campaign and asks staff to recruit their friends and families to become members. Peter said: "An endorsement from staff carries much weight and getting our friends and families to register as members will be in keeping with the Trust's vision: "People who use our hospital services will recommend us to their family and friends."
