Turner Road to close, evenings and overnight, for roadworks

Roadworks later this month are expected to increase travel time to and from Colchester General Hospital, in the evenings and overnight.

The works programme will start at 8pm on each specified date and should be complete before 6am the following morning.

Diversion routes will be put in place by Essex County Council for the duration of the works.

Access for emergency vehicles to Colchester General Hospital via the dedicated Northern Approach road entrance will be maintained.

Patients, visitors and staff are asked to plan accordingly around these essential works.

Thursday 29th August - Peto Avenue junction - see plan

Turner Road will be closed between Holden Road and Northern Approach junctions to the South.

Access to all hospital sites will be from Mill Road only.

All hospital entrances will be open.

Friday 30th August and Monday 2nd September - Phase 1 - see plan

Turner Road will be closed between Fieldview Close and Lufkin Close/Hospital South entrance.

Hospital North entrance will be closed. No access from Mill Road.

Hospital access will be the South entrance via the Turner Road/Northern Approach junction to the South.

Two way traffic will be in operation in front of the main hospital entrance.

The northern exit of the visitor car park will be closed.

Tuesday 3rd and Wednesday 4th September - Phase 2 - see plan

Turner Road will be closed between Lufkin Close and Turner Village.

Hospital South entrance will be closed.

Access to the hospital will be through the North entrance from Mill Road only.

Two way traffic will be in operation in front of the main hospital entrance.

The southern exit of the visitor car park will be closed.

Thursday 5th and Friday 6th September - Phase 3 - see plan

Turner Road will be closed between Turner Village and Holden Road.

Access to the hospital will be from Mill Road only.

Hospital entrances will operate as normal.

Turner Village traffic will be using the Hospital South entrance.
