Nick Hulme has worked in the NHS for more than 30 years. He has an outstanding record of achievement in operational management and leadership in large, complex London acute Trusts.
Nick successfully brought together community and hospital based care in his previous role as Chief Executive of Croydon Health Services NHS Trust. He has worked in health and social care throughout his career. His first management role was in sexual health services before being appointed to senior leadership roles in operational and general management.
Nick was appointed as Chief Executive at The Ipswich Hospital NHS Trust in January 2013 and in May 2016 became Chief Executive of Colchester Hospital University NHS Foundation Trust. He is also leading the Sustainability and Transformation Plan (STP) for east and west Suffolk and north east Essex. STPs outline how health and social care organisations will continue to work together to sustain and transform services over the next five years.

Formerly, the Medical Director at Ipswich, Barbara comes with over 15 years’ experience of board leadership as Medical Director in three previous organisations, and has a wealth of knowledge in leading change and transformation through clinical engagement.
Director of Nursing

Catherine previously worked at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, King’s Lynn, where she was Director of Nursing for three years. Prior to that she was Deputy Director of Nursing at Ipswich Hospital Trust.

Medical workforce appointments, training, appraisal and continuing professional development, clinical governance, audit and effectiveness and Caldicott Guardian.
Angela trained at University College London and qualified in 1987. She first trained as a GP but then went on to complete paediatric training, starting as a consultant in Colchester in 2001. Roles include Lead Clinician for Paediatric Oncology Services and from March 2011 - December 2013 Divisional Director for Women and Children's Services. She is an instructor for national resuscitation council courses and supports life support training and the paediatric critical care group at the Trust.
Director of Finance
Appointed: 2 February 2015
Dawn has 18 years' experience in the NHS predominately as an accountant and ultimately as a Finance Director.
She spent two years at NHS England's Essex Area Team as Director of Finance and Deputy Area Director. Prior to that, from 2010-11 she was Director of Finance at NHS South West Essex and worked at South East Essex PCT from 2006 to 2009.
Director of Communications (Joint role with The Ipswich Hospital NHS Trust)

Ali has over ten years’ experience leading communications in the NHS. Having graduated with an MA in Biological Sciences from Oxford University, her early career was spent at the BBC where she worked as a producer of factual programmes (mainly science and medicine) for BBC Radio 4 and BBC World Service. She moved into health communications working for the Department of Health and a London teaching hospital before being appointed as director of communications at University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust, a role she stayed in for ten years. After relocating to East Anglia in 2016, Ali worked as head of communications at West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust before taking up the joint role of director of communications for both Colchester Hospital University NHS Foundation Trust and The Ipswich Hospital NHS Trust.
Director of Operations
Appointed: 23 January 2017
Alison previously was the Deputy Chief Operating Officer and Head of Operations at Ipswich Hospital Trust.
Director of Clinical Integration
Appointed: 18 April 2016
Dr Gordon has been a GP in Essex since 2002 and was Clinical Chief Officer of North East Essex Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG). He is vice-chairman of the East of England Clinical Senate. He was Associate Medical Director of the East of England Strategic Health Authority and is a member of the Royal College of General Practitioners and the Royal College of Surgeons.
Director of Estates & Facilities
Appointed June 2015.
Chris has over 30 years NHS experience having started his career as an Engineering Apprentice at the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital. He has worked in Estates Management roles in mental health and community services in Dorset and East Sussex and was appointed as Deputy Director of Planning and Business Development at South Essex Partnership Trust in 2006. In 2010 Chris attained his first Directors role at SEPT and has a track record of delivering high quality Estates and Facilities services and Capital developments. Chris has a Masters Degree in Planning Buildings for Health, is a professionally qualified engineer and a member of the Institute of Engineering and Technology.

Ann was previously Company Secretary at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and Director of Audit Services of an NHS Internal Audit Consortium. She is a qualified accountant and chartered secretary and is responsible for the corporate governance of the Trust and advising the Board of Directors and Council of Governors about their duties and responsibilities.
