In Memory Donations
Donations in memory of a loved one are an important and meaningful way to commemorate their life. We can provide special collection envelopes for funerals.
If you are arranging a funeral and would like to ask for a donation to a ward or department at the hospital instead of floral tributes, our funeral collection envelopes will make it easier. The envelopes can be made available at the funeral or funeral directors and sent to friends and relatives.
We will acknowledge all donations received in memory of your family member or friend.
If you would like us to send you some personalised collection envelopes, please contact the fundraising office at least 5 days before the funeral.
In Memory Tributes
Following demand from our supporters, Colchester Hospitals Charity have developed a Tribute Fund initiative as a way of honouring the life of a loved one - both today and as a legacy for the future.
A Tribute Fund can be set up in the name of a loved one and contributions to the fund can be raised in a range of different ways. Friends, family and colleagues can raise money through events such as a sponsored walk or run, or through making a regular donation on special dates such as the birthday of their loved one.
It is really easy to set up and you can choose your own website name where your tribute will be stored online and where your friends, family and colleagues can visit. There are many beautiful designs to choose from and you can add memories, pictures, music and video to create a really special tribute site from which to fundraise in memory of your loved one.

A Gift in your Will
Once you have provided for your loved ones, we hope you will consider leaving a gift to Colchester Hospitals Charity.
This is a wonderful way to support people in your local community; it is also extremely tax efficient, as leaving a will to a registered charity is exempt from Inheritance Tax and Income Tax.
You do not need to leave much or choose between Colchester Hospitals Charity and your family. Anything you leave will make a real difference to how we can support patients in the future.
You can download our leaflet about making a gift in your will.
