Colchester United footballers to pay Christmas visit to Children’s Unit

18 December 2017

Footballers from Colchester United Football Club will pay their traditional Christmas visit to the Children’s Unit at Colchester General Hospital on Tuesday, 19 December.

The players will hand out gifts to the children and also sign autographs and chat with parents and staff during their visit, which is expected to last about an hour.

Six first-team squad members will be in attendance, including goalkeeper Sam Walker and winger Drey Wright, while club mascot Eddie the Eagle will also be there.

The Children’s Unit consists of a ward, assessment centre, elective care unit and outpatient department, and serves children 0-16 from all over Colchester, Tendring and Halstead and the Colne Valley.
