All kinds of people visit Colchester General Hospital for all kinds of reasons.

Many will be visiting friends or relatives during a stay in hospital or accompanying someone to an outpatient appointment. Others will be visiting the hospital to meet colleagues, attend training courses, or perhaps to look round the hospital.

This section of the website aims to bring together all the information that visitors may find useful - whatever the reason for their visit.

At the Trust we have matrons on duty 24 hours per day. If you have a concern about nursing care received or are concerned about what you should do after being in hospital please contact one of the matrons.

Pay and Display car parking is extremely limited at our hospitals and not guaranteed. Because of the pressure on car park spaces, we would strongly encourage you to explore alternative ways of travelling to the hospital.

Trains: Colchester North. One mile.
Buses: Traveline. 0871 200 22 33.
Parking: On-site parking available. Tariffs apply (see menu on the left).

Bear in mind the Radiotherapy2014 project to build a new £25m Radiotherapy Centre by 2014 at Colchester General Hospital. It's affecting access to Constable Wing and Gainsborough Wing.
